Both founders have spent careers managing airways in the places where effective ventilation matters most — the ambulance, the helicopter and the side of the road.

RhinoBVM began with a problem Raluca knew firsthand: with smaller hands, she struggled to maintain a one-handed seal on a standard bag-valve mask. The device grew out of that experience — a nasal-first manual ventilation device designed around one-handed use, so a single rescuer can ventilate effectively regardless of hand size.

A team built around the device

RhinoBVM is proud to work alongside an experienced group of designers, engineers, attorneys, and sales and regulatory advisors — the cross-disciplinary team needed to bring a medical device from concept to the field.

RhinoBVM is also part of the Tulane University Innovation Institute's Startup Team Mentoring program, collaborating with mentors from the entrepreneurial world.

RhinoBVM was also named a finalist in Tulane's $50K Demo Day startup contest.
